"This music is basically evolved from villages as the people entertain themselves by singing with their own instruments and various cultural forms are associated with it." 1. Is Indian Classical Music is same as Folk Music?

There is a huge difference between folk music and classical music. You can see them together just in their cultural and traditional way. Classical music is referred to as an art form of music whereas folk music is termed as the traditional way of art and music. "Both have different styles of instruments as well as singing but are somehow connected with region, tradition, and culture". Classical music depicts the pitch, rhythm, and quality of music. It is termed as the sophisticated and emotional type of music through which when you start connecting, you feel the rhythm and enjoy it.

    Numerous Gharanas Of Indian Culture And Tradition

  • Gwalior Gharana: This Gharana is quite old from all the new ones. It is different as its style of singing is simple which is basically called "Khayal Gayaki".The founders are Ustad nathu khan,Ustad haddu khan, Ustad hassu khan.The main singers are Veena shashtrabudhe , Pandit omkarnath Thakur, Bal Krishna balchal, and others.
  • Agra Gharana: This Gharana is very well known for its powerful notes and deep voice. It puts an immense effect on the mind of the listeners. The founders are Haji sujan khan,Ustad ghagghe khuda baksh.The main singers are faiyaz khan, latafat Hussein khan, and dinkar kakini, and others.
  • Kirana Gharana: Why is it called the Kirana Gharana..as it is derived from the native birthplace of Abdul Karim khan from Kirana which is located in Kurukshetra. This type of singing is quite melodious and every swar is used to create the notes of the deep song. The founders of the Gharanas are Abdul Karim Khan, Abdul Wahid khan. The main singers are Begum Akhtar, Gangubai hangal, Bhimsen Joshi, Hirabai barodekar, and Prabha atre.
  • Atrauli Gharana: This is Jaipur Gharana which is famous for its melodies and swar to the tone of different styles of instruments.Ustad Alladiya Khan is the founder of the Gharana.The main singers are Padma tawalkar,Alladiya khan,Mallikarjuna mansur , kesarbai kerkar and others.
  • Patila Gharana: This Gharana is very close to delhi Gharans.In this, the rhythm and melodies are so beautiful and in melodies use of words are associated with this music. They use the bolis which is characterized by different functional events and anything they want to include in their singing. The founders are Ustad Fateh Ali khan,Ustad Ali Baksh.The main singers are Raza Ali khan, Ajoy Chakraborty, Nirmala Devi, Parveen Sultana, and others.
  • Mewati Gharana: "Bhava Pradhan " is the style of this Gharana.It is a very sensitive Gharana where melodies are based on the mood of the raga and the lyrics are equally important which describes the faces of the situation. The founder of the Gharana is Ghagghe Nazir khan. The main singers are Pandit Jasraj, Mani ram, Moti ram, Sanjeev abhyankar, and others.

Rajasthan, the land of the desert is a beautiful combination of heritage, art, monuments, culture, tradition, artists, and all these combined and formed a single word that is Folk Music. This music is generated by "Gharanas" of Rajasthan. "There are numerous gharanas associated with folk music". They play their own instruments, compose their own beat and create the magical melody by singing it in a folk style. These gharanas are singing from generation to generation and achieving numerous awards in music.
